I called Bell and they do NOT charge to activate an existing account like this - nor was it even required that a new card be put in. I can only assume the less than ethical sales person was trying to pad his sales total.

I don't know if there are other options to deal with Bell in Tracadie but this store should be your absolute LAST choice.

Any decent individual with a sense of customer service would have helped out my uncle by transferring the SIM from the old phone to the new one (same size card). Instead the sales person decided my uncle needed to purchase a new card AND charged hie to activate it. The bill was $46.

This sort of greedy, unethical behaviour is a shame. My uncle called Bell and they agreed to give him a credit for half of this on his account (the store took no action). BUT - this is still $23 more than it should have been. The Source is a wholly owned Bell subsidiary and I hope they take some action with regards to this dreadful customer service.

I gifted an unlocked Samsung phone to my uncle who lives near Tracadie. His current phone was on its last legs so I wanted to do something nice for him. Now my uncle is elderly (70's) and living on a fixed income. He was unsure of how to switch the SIM card from the old phone (I'm out of province - I mailed the phone) so he took it to this location.
